Biography
Carol Kurtz Walsh, LCSW-C, is a psychotherapist, personal coach, artist and writer. She first began her professional life as an artist receiving a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University. For the first fifteen years she worked full time in her studio, exhibiting nationally and winning major awards. She has had many one-person shows, including one at the prestigious Franz Bader Gallery in Washington, D.C. She also wrote and illustrated a book on design, color and creativity for fiber artists, taught art at several colleges, and lectured nationally.
She currently maintains a large production studio in her home. Some of her photographs and "digital photo-paintings" can be viewed in her online gallery.
Expanding her professional life, she received her MSW degree in clinical social work from Catholic University of America. As an LCSW-C, she has been in private practice for twenty-seven years. She has lectured and given multiple workshops on diverse subjects such as "Dream Work", and "Eradicating Shame". She currently has an office in Bethesda, MD where she offers individual psychotherapy, supervision and coaching.
As a writer sh writes about emotional/spiritual issues, and has authored the book, The Art of Awakening Spirit. Since 1995 she has written over forty articles for “Pathways Magazine” – some which are available on this website. Her current book, available in PDF format online, is Breakthrough: Coping Skills for Chaotic Times.
On a personal level, she works together with her husband Tom Walsh, LCSW-C. She has two daughters and four grandchildren, and splits her work week between her psychotherapy office and her studio.
